Yesterday we did a lesson called "Technology of Toys."
First Liz showed us some toys from the olden days. They were mostly made out of wood.
We sat in a circle and looked at different plastic toys. We worked out what was inside to help it move.
Then we looked at how to make our own sound toy. We used a cup, a string, masking tape and water to make strange sounds. Some made an elephant sound, others sounded like horses, seals, dolphins or chickens.
Next, we made a moving toy with elastic bands, a tube, a popstick and a toothpick. You have to hold the toothpick end and twist the other end. Once it is wound up, it will spin by itself.
We loved making our own toys in Hands on Science!
