On Thursday the 18th of September we went to the "Kew Traffic School." We were so excited that the bus ride went really quickly!
When we got there, Jenni taught us about all of the road signs so that we could navigate the roads safely. We learned that we must sit in the back of the car and use a booster seat to be safe.
We also learned about how to put our helmets on correctly. There should be two fingers between your eyebrows and the helmet so that it covers your head. Then you have to adjust the side buckles so that they sit under your ears. The best test is to shake your head - the helmet should not move at all!
We started with a walk around the roads to practise crossing the roads safely. We had to "Stop, Look, Listen and Think." We now understand that even though cross with a supervisor or at the traffic lights, we should still always be careful.
Fianlly it was time to choose a bike and practise our driving skills! Most of us were very responsible when it came to obeying the traffic lights, but the give way signs and the round-about proved to be a bit tricky!
We all had a lot of fun. Best of all there were no accidents! Well done 1H for being safe and responsible road users!
